Our second annual Jam highlights 10 educational talks and experientials focused on the use of mind-body tools to support patient and practitioner mental health.

What is Poṣaṇa Jam?

Poṣaṇa Jam is an online gathering for Registered Dietitians, yoga teachers, and other health pros working at the intersection of nourishment science, embodiment, and social justice.

The word Poṣaṇa (पोषण) comes from the Sanskrit language and means "nourishment, protection, and support for all aspects of your being"

We believe in nutritonal soul in integrative medicine.

Posana Jam 2 is all about Mental Health.

Donnalea Van Vleet Goelz

Ph.D.

Donnalea Van Vleet Goelz has a PhD in Clinical Somatic Psychology and is a courtesy Research Assistant Professor at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville. Currently, she serves on the United States Association of Body Psychology as director at large. She is executive director of Continuum Movement®, founded by Emilie Conrad Da’oud, and a graduate of the Barbara Brennan School of Healing, where she served as senior faculty in the U.S. and Europe as Dean of the third year. She has taught and been on the faculty of several educational institutions: the University of Florida, the University of North Florida, Esalen Institute, Open Center, Kripalu, and Hollyhock Educational Institute. Currently, she is involved in somatic research at the University of Florida and presents at trauma conferences worldwide.

Prita Lal

Ph.D.

Prita Lal has been an educator and activist for over 20 years and has ancestral roots in Ayurveda and Yoga as a child of South Asian immigrants. She was an organizer at Casa Atabex Ache (the House of Womyn’s Power) in the South Bronx, where she co-facilitated monthly healing circles for womxn of color based on earth-based modalities. She completed a 200 RYT at Yoga to the People and an Ayurveda Health Coach program the Minnesota Institute of Ayurveda. She is a faculty member at The Evergreen State College, where she teaches anti-racism and anti-colonizing education, food justice, environmental justice, ethnic studies, and social movements.

Kwynn Mason

MPH, RD, LDN, IFNCP, CLS 

Kwynn Mason is a supervisory dietitian for outpatient clinical nutrition with Tennessee Valley Healthcare System. She has been at the VA for 9 years, most recently a PACT RD where she helped to form the TVHS Mindful and Intuitive Eating Group. She holds a BA from Case Western Reserve University in Nutritional Biochemistry and Metabolism, an MPH from University of Toledo in Nutrition and Epidemiology, and is doctoral student at Saybrook University focusing on Integrative and Functional Nutrition. Kwynn is MB-EAT trained, a certified lactation specialist and an integrative and functional nutrition certified practitioner.

Laura Cipullo

RD, CDCES, CEDS-S, RYT

Laura Cipullo, is a four time author with over 25 years of experience as a RD specializing in the prevention and treatment of eating disorders, and endocrine disorders. Laura has been using her expertise as a 500 Hour Registered Yoga Instructor and her training in Mindful Awareness Body Technique, RO-DBT, and Polyvagal Theory to teach all individuals why they eat, how to eat, and how to respond rather than react with food. Laura believes in both a bottom up and top down approach to integrate mind and body solutions for every individual’s health.

Shannon Herbert

PhD, RD, CDN, RYT

Shannon Herbert is a registered dietitian and yoga instructor, specializing in eating disorders and women’s hormonal health. With a unique approach that blends her yoga expertise with specialized training in Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT) and Polyvagal Theory, Shannon empowers clients to reclaim their relationships with food and their bodies. In addition to her clinical work, Shannon serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Nutrition and Food Studies at New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development.

Michael lee

MA, Dip.Soc.Sci, CIAYT, ERYT

Michael Lee founded Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy in 1986, integrating yoga and elements of contemporary psychology, supported by neuroscience. Michael received a BS from the University of Queensland, and Masters degrees from Norwich University, VT, and Flinder’s University, Australia. He is a leader in yoga therapy with a focus on mental and emotional health and a regular keynote speaker at national and international events.

Abby Bange

Abby Bange is a licensed mental health counselor and registered dietitian. She has worked in wellness counseling for almost 20 years. She believes in evidence based work and that you cannot treat the part without the whole. When Abby realized that different ailments that she was seeing in her clinic and in the hospital was not do to a lack of education, she then pivoted her career and leans heavily on her counseling skills to help people have healthy relationships with food. Abby currently owns her own private practice where she loves providing integrative therapy.

Annie B Kay

Annie B Kay is an integrative dietitian and certified yoga therapist in private telehealth practice in Western MA. She is the best-selling author of three trade books on nutrition and yoga therapy. She holds a BS in Nutritional Biochemistry from Cornell University, an MS in Nutrition Communications from Boston University, and certifications in medical yoga therapy and shamanic herbalism. Annie is the former Director of the MA Osteoporosis Awareness Program at the MA Department of Public Health in Boston, and was Lead Nutritionist at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, the largest holistic education center in the US.

Kathie Madonna Swift, Author, educator, and integrative healthcare pioneer, Kathie graduated from Arizona State University with a Master of Science in Nutrition and expanded her conventional dietetics background with extensive training in integrative and functional medicine. Kathie is the co-founder of the integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy, an online functional nutrition training program for health care professionals. She created innovative nutrition programs at Canyon Ranch Health Resort, Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, and Dr. Mark Hyman’s UltraWellenss Center. Kathie also directed the Center for Mind Body Medicine’s “Food as Medicine” program for over 20 years. She is certified in Mind Body Medicine and evidence-based Qigong (EBQ) and integrates these healing modalities in her teaching and clinical practice.

Jenna Hollenstein

MS, RDN

Jenna Hollenstein is a nutrition therapist, meditation teacher, and author of five books. Her work combines intuitive eating, trauma-sensitive mindfulness, polyvagal theory, and other embodied modalities. She received her BS in Nutrition from Penn State, and her MS in Nutrition from Tufts University. Her work has been featured in the New York Times, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, Self, Health, Lion’s Roar, Mindful, Vogue, Elle, Glamour, Women’s World, and U.S. News & World Report. Jenna lives with her family in greater New York City, NY.

Mary Purdy is an integrative eco-dietitian working at the intersection of sustainable food systems, climate, and human health. With 13+ years in clinical practice using food-as-medicine approaches, she taught at Bastyr University for 8 years and currently serves as Managing Director of the Nutrient Density Alliance. Mary is also Adjunct Faculty at The Culinary Institute of America's Masters Program in Sustainable Food Systems and a frequent speaker at national and state conferences on nutrition and sustainability. Author of two books and host of 125+ podcast episodes, she's a leading voice on the health and environmental benefits of regenerative agriculture.

Can I earn CEUs as a Registered Dietitian?

You sure can! This self-study program has been approved for 10.5 CEUs through the Commission on Dietetics Registration.

Can I earn CEUs as a Yoga Teacher?

You sure can! We have been approved for 13.0 CEUs for yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance.
